Just How Quiet are Our Pumps?

The decibel is the unit used to measure the intensity of a sound.

On the decibel scale, the smallest audible sound (near total silence) is 0. A sound 10 times more powerful is 10 decibels. A whisper is around 15 decibels, a regular conversation 60 decibels, and a jet engine or music concert 120 decibels.

Condensate removal pumps are designed to remove water from air conditioning and boiler systems.

Some people prefer traditional gravity-based drainage systems even though they can leak and cause health issues. These people incorrectly believe that because condensate pumps are mechanical, they are not quiet.

They are wrong! In fact, pump technology has progressed significantly in recent years. Sauermann`s revolutionary and patented 'Si' pump technology (United States Patent 9028227) offers installers and users quiet noise levels in combination with reliable and strong performance.

For example, Sauermann`s most popular product is the Si-30 mini condensate removal pump. Quiet in operation, its sound level has been independently tested at only 20 decibels –just a little bit quieter than the sound of a ticking wrist watch.  The Si-20, which is featured in the Sauermann Omega Pack, and the Si-10, which is featured in the Delta Pack, are only 22 or 23 decibels. These units also have mounting brackets that are specifically designed to reduce vibration transmission to the wall, panel or pipework that can sometime result from incorrect installation.

Sauermann`s mini condensate removal pumps are ideal for home or office settings where quieter environments are often appreciated.
